SGP TITLE HEATS UP IN MALLILA
The Speedway Grand Prix series continues in the Swedish city of Mallila, as the title race heats up.
Last year Nicki Pedersen jumped onto the top box, with Matej Zagar and Freddie Lindgren completing the rostrum. Yet, with Pedersen failing to make the top eight in 2018, he has his first absence in the GP series since 2002, leaving the gold spot open to another point-hungry rider.
Bartosz Zmarzlik, Emil Sayfutdinov and Leon Madsen set a three-way joint lead at the top of the table with 61 points. The championship is more competitive than ever this season with no standout rider pulling away from the rest of the pack. However, the fans will be getting behind the nation favourites Lindgren and Jacob Thorssell, who appears in the series as a wildcard. Can a Swede conquer the G&B arena in front of the home crowd? Can a high in form Zmarzlik, Sayfutdinov or Madsen take home the victory of the ScandiSGP?
