Brad Binder earned a KTM home win, as the South African held off the dominance of Alex Marquez to the line.

Binder grabbed the holeshot from the line and instantly made his mark on the field, with Luca Marini, Tom Luthi, Enea Bastianini and Remy Garnder in second place. However, Australia’s Gardner found himself stranded in the middle of the track, as Alex Marquez made his way through the pack seeing them collide and Luthi dropping through the pack. As Marini and Bastianini got close to Binder, they also saw themselves finish in the gravel trap after Marini collected his fellow Italian, seeing them crash out of the race.

This left Marquez on the hunt for another win, while Binder was looking for the best birthday present he could wish for and took the chequered flag.

Jorge Navarro finished in third place, with Lorenzo Baldassari and Augusto Fernandez completing the top 5.
