BEFORE THE TAPES GO UP: TETEROW GP
As the end of the Speedway Grand Prix season dawns on the field, it must mean only one thing. With two rounds left, the race for the World Championship and top eight is becoming more realistic for some and almost impossible for others.
Teterow, Germany, hosts the talented field of riders as they race the penultimate round of the series and with only nine points in it at the top of the table, everyone is on the edge of their seats. Bartosz Zmarzlik is currently chasing Tai Woffinden for the championship as he continues to reel him in and close the gap to every speedway riders dream - becoming World Champion.
Throwing it back to last year, Slovenian, Matej Zagar, took the top spot on the rostrum amongst Martin Vaculik and Jason Doyle. However, with Zagar still recovering from his injury that ruled him out last round, there’s no guarantee he will be feeling his best come Saturday. All four of last years finalists, Zagar, Vaculik, Doyle and Chris Holder sit outside the top eight this season and may have to rely on a WildCard pick to place them in the pack for next year. Could they use this as a catalyst to their 2019 season?
