As the Speedway Grand Prix season heads towards the business end, Slovenia holds round eight of the series.

Matej Zagar would usually be flying the flag for the Slovenians as he fights for his top eight spot, but this year, unfortunately for the home fans, Zagar has ruled himself out. He crashed on Sunday with Szymon Wozniak in Czestochowa and took no further part in the meeting. As a result he has reluctantly had to withdraw from the meeting and will be replaced by Niels K Iversen- a man who has a permanent spot in the GP’s for 2019. The Slovenian fans will have to count on wildcard, Matic Ivacic, for home heroics.

Another duo on fire this season are Poland’s Bartosz Zmarzlik and Britain’s Tai Woffinden. Woffinden is currently leading the title chase by sixteen points but Zmarzlik is hot on his tail. You can be sure that both riders will certainly be looking for the win on the night...
