ALVARO ADDS TO HIS TOTAL
Alvaro Bautista adds to his winning streak, as he takes the top spot in a red flagged Sprint Race after an incident between Leon Camier and Thitipong Warokorn.
The Spaniard battled against the four time World Champion, Jonathan Rea, throughout the first half of the race, but the Northern Irishman was unable to prevent Bautista from pulling away and taking the race win by 1.6 seconds when the race ended prematurely.
The incident involving Moriwaki-Althea Honda’s Camier and Kawasaki Thailand’s Warokorn struck at at turn 3 on lap 6. The Englishman, Camier, walked away from the incident, but wildcard, Warokorn, was taken to the medical centre immediately.
Alex Lowes completed the rostrum, ahead of Michael Van der Mark and Leon Haslam. Italy’s Marco Melandri crossed the line in sixth, holding off Sandro Cortese and Chaz Davies.
