ALEX MARQUEZ'S 4/5
Alex Marquez bagged his fourth win in five races at the infamous Sachsenring circuit to extend his Moto2 championship lead.
Italian talent, Luca Marini, initially shot from the line to take the lead but shortly found his way tumbling down the pack. Marcel Schrotter barged his way to the front but was shortly joined by the man on the move, Brad Binder. A fierce battle commenced between the leading group as they could all see 25 points up for grabs, however, it left some riders pointless as they hit the gravel. Thomas Luthi forcefully sent his Dynavolt Intact bike up the inside of Xavi Vierge which sent the Spaniard tumbling through the gravel traps and Luthi with a long lap penalty.
This left Alex Marquez the opportunity to launch himself to the front of the Moto2 field and check out, not looking back since. Brad Binder took second place with home hero Marcel Schrotter in third.
